ALM 17: Maths at work – mathematics in a changing world

Researchers, practitioners and policymakers gathered at the 17th International Conference of Adult Learning Mathematics (ALM) in Oslo from 28 to 30 June 2010.

The 17th ALM conference welcomed national and international participants to come together to share and discuss issues around adults learning mathematics. The conference participants were invited to submit papers discussing the skills needed for work and life in a changing world, including mathematics for industry, and with a special focus on the «whats, whys and hows» of adult numeracy.

The conference was held in Oslo and organised by Vox, Norwegian Agency for Lifelong Learning. The next conference, ALM 18, will be held in Dublin in 2011.
