Vox and the EEA grants

Many of the countries that receive money from the EEA and Norwegian Financial Mechanisms have devoted funds to human resources development.
Adult learning initiatives may be included in this and Vox is a partner-finding contact point for applicants in this field of activity.

The mechanisms
The EEA and Norwegian Financial Mechanisms are two mechanisms directed towards the same aims: reducing the social and economic differences within the European Economic area (EEA) and enabling all EEA countries to participate fully in the Internal Market.

The EEA Financial Mechanisms is the amount of money (€600 million) contributed by the three EEA-EFTA countries, i.e. Iceland, Lichtenstein and Norway. The Norwegian Financial Mechanism is the extra sum (€567 million) provided by Norway alone.

Donors and beneficiaries
Norway, Iceland and Lichtenstein are referred to as the donor countries. The beneficiary countries are the new member states of the EU and a few of the old ones.

Detailed information about the financial mechanisms can be found on the web page of the Financial Mechanisms Office, i.e. www.eeagrants.org

Vox responsibilities in connection with the Financial Mechanisms
Vox has been given the role of being the link in Norway between potential applicants for adult learning projects and exchange visits on the one hand and Norwegian counterparts on the other. If you have a project idea and need a Norwegian partner we can probably help you.

If you are a teacher or an adult education organiser who wants to study adult education organisation and practice in Norway we will try to help you with a programme for your scholarship visit.

To a very limited extent Vox may also be a partner in adult learning projects.
Please contact Jan Sørlie – This is a mailto link for assistance.
