Maths at work - mathematics in a changing world.
Vox invites researchers, practitioners and policymakers to the 17th International Conference of Adult Learning Mathematics (ALM) in Oslo from 28 to 30 June 2010.
The 17th ALM conference will provide a forum for national and international participants to come together to share and discuss issues around adults learning mathematics.
The venue for the conference will be the headquarters of Vox, Norwegian Agency for Lifelong Learning in Oslo.

Call for Papers
The committee will welcome papers discussing the skills needed for work and life in a changing world, including mathematics for industry, and with a special focus on the whats, whys and hows” of adult numeracy.
Possible themes for parallel sessions may be:
- numeracy as different from general mathematics
- relevance and socio-cultural aspects
- the role of numeracy as a door to lifelong learning
- financial literacy
- motivational issues
- quality of provision, teacher training
- different arenas for learning, including the work place
- awareness of math difficulties
